My computer ended it's life earlier this week, and some fucks burgled my car last week. They stole two jackets and my book bag.
I had a library book in that bag. It seems sadistic and impatient to steal a library book from a person. I think this thief goes around stealing library books, forcing good citizens to pay outrageous fees and get cold stare sfrom librarians when they check out books. Or they really wanted to read Saint Joan of the Stockyards, and they had already incurred too many late fees of their own.That's just what I think. Well I think it was just a jerk who thought there was something valuable in my bag.
Anyway tomorrow I have two interviews for CPJ editor-in-chief. One is done by the staff of the student paper and the other is done by a committee of administrators. I'm not really looking forward to the interviews, but I am looking forward to possibly being editor-in-chief.

Tomorrow I have to look for an apartment, since our landlord is selling the house when our lease is up.

What happens to me at work.

" I was hollerin' for five minutes but no one heard me."

I turned around to see a large middle-aged white women standing by the dish rack. She spoke with a Southern drawl.

" You folks are out of toilet paper. I had to use paper towels. I dislike using paper towels."

Keeping the bathroom stocked and clean was my job. I felt sympathetic towards the woman's dilemma. Stuck in a public restroom, unaware of where the toilet paper was. Her cries for help going unanswered. Forced to use uncomfortable paper towels for cleaning herself.

" Sorry about that," I replied. "I'll go grab some."

I ran upstairs to retrieve the toilet paper.

All of the bathroom supplies were kept in large room in an apartment above the bakery. One of the old employees used to reside there, but now it doubled as an office and massive storage room.

I found a bulk package of toilet paper and grabbed three rolls. I went downstairs to the bathroom to put one of the rolls on the holder, and the other two on a shelf above the toilet. This way no costumer would be caught in this situation for the rest of my shift.

I walked back over to the dirty dishes. There the woman stood picking walnuts off of a dirty baking pan and shoving them in her mouth. Images of the homeless and the impoverished ran through my mind. Was she starving? Should a give her a loaf of bread?

She did not look homeless. In fact, she looked well enough off, and well fed.

" I thought I finish these nuts off before you threw em out."

The woman stood there picking nuts off the dirty baking pan unaware of how she looked. Apathetic towards eating trash from the bakery. It was just a natural action for her.

Russia in the world arena

After viewing the following video, I can't help but feel America may lose its super power status to Russia. The reason being that Vladimir Putin has a black belt in Judo. In this video, he demonstrates his proficiency in the martial art.

I feel as though that Putin may start a fad of settling political disputes through Judo or mixed martial arts matches. If this happens, Russia may grapple and flip it's way to the top. President Bush may try and play himself off as a cowboy, but there is no way he could beat Putin in fisticuffs. He is getting flabby around the edges. As the great grandson of Russian immigrants I would have nothing to fear if Russia takes over, but many of you aren't so lucky. So please when voting in 2008, don't let frivolous things such as political party, religion or issues influence your decision. Vote based on physical prowess. America's future depends on it.

The Final Countdown!

On Monday, my instructor informed the class that we had a twelve page final due on Thursday. My first reaction was to curse his name and everything he stood for, but he's amusingly flamboyant and academic. I began to reflect on all the work I had to do within the next couple of days: ia series of six photographs revolving around laundry and the people who do laundry and several articles for the campus newspaper. So I have decide to build a burrow in my mind to lock myself off from the outside world. My burrow will consist of two tunnels, one is work-related while the other is schoolwork. I have managed to escape from this mental burrow to update the outside world on my status. For now I will retreat to my tunnels where I will do nothing but work, and smoke cigarettes( this burrow is well ventilated and features several self-cleaning ashtrays. Au revoir.

Cat Calloway, Ween and College Journalism

This last week I got a new roommate by the name of Colby Jack Calloway or Cat Calloway for short. She's kind of self-absorbed and demands to attention nonstop, but she's also really small and adorable so her flaws as a cat are forgivable. I also had the chance to experience the phenomenon known as Ween last night. It was pretty bombass and spectacular. During the show I carved the image of Boognish onto my chest with a dull pocket knife I found on the ground. The knife was caked in some liquid of an indeterminable color, and was missing horribly chipped from being danced on.

School, The box, and more

The last couple of weeks I have been working for Jack in the Box. I hate it. Being there is like being in a room with a humidifier turned to the maximum setting but instead of making the air moist it releases dirty fryer grease into the air. There are also various beeps, buzzes, and shouts which vibrate through the kitchen which I am sure are either causing me irreversible brain damage and/or hearing loss. Needless to say I have updated my resume for the first time in over a year and am looking for a new job.

However today I didn't go to work and did some landscaping for a family instead. I made about the same I would have made today at the box and worked about an hour less. Plus I got to become one with nature before uprooting it from the Earth.

Though an up note school starts in a little over two weeks and I only need to be there Monday and Saturday mornings for class. Wooo. So with these events I should probably make a to do list as to not be caught off guard.

Car Accident

MTV has this show called My Super Sweet Sixteen which visits various sixteen year old girls and documents their extravagant birthday parties which usually end with the young girl getting one or more cars. These cars are not the typical first cars they're not hondas, toyotas, kias, or hand me downs they are genuinely nice cars. Now the show also documents the drama that surrounds these parties, which includes arguments with parents, party crashers, etc. What really seems to be the appeal of the show though isn't the extravagance of the parties or the drama in these girls lives, it's how spoiled these girls appear to be.

QotD: Can't-Miss Podcasts

Are there any podcasts that you never miss an episode of?

I used to be really into podcasts or more accurately video podcasts or even more accurately "vidcast". I used to get as many of the as I could, mainly Channel Frederator and any other animation related podcasts as well as every tech tv podcast (well by every, I probably mean two or three, which very well be every). Then I realized I had fallen behind and my hard drive space was being filled with "vidcasts". So thus began the great unsubscribtion and deletion of all these podcasts.

During all this time I have found myself able to listen to podcasts by reducing the number I listen to. It is much like many addictions where the ultimate goal is not to completely give up on something but be able to practice it in moderation. Anyway the podcasts which I currently listen to are the Joe Frank and This American Life podcasts. Unlike the old podcasts I find myself able to easily keep up with these two. However I may in fact be addicted to the This American Life podcast. I am so addicted they are my friends on every social network I am a member of. I hope they send me free stuff.
